The LM Ceramics Studio offers those new to clay and experienced potters an opportunity to develop and hone skills in a friendly, supportive space that is filled with natural light and good creative energy. On a regular basis, we offer Intro to Clay classes making functional pieces with an emphasis on having fun and learning. The studio is well equipped to meet the needs of our new coming artists!

Checked out members have access to all tools and equipment and materials – except clay – which must be purchased from the studio. The cost of clay covers all glazes and firings.

  • Several potter’s wheels
  • A 24” slab roller
  • An electric kiln firing to cone 6
  • A variety of commercial glazes
  • White stoneware clay
  • A large variety of tools and materials for throwing, hand building, and sculpture

Ceramics offers classes in wheel throwing and hand building.

For those new to clay, taking a class is an easy way to get checked out. Otherwise the member just needs some experience in clay to be checked out by one of the shop captains.

Members, not in a class, must purchase a shelf (or 1/2 shelf) for storage of their projects, or take them home. 1/2 shelf is $5 per month.
