FIRST-FLOOR SHOP CLOSURES
Saturday and Sunday, November 14–15 | 7 AM–9 PM
Please be advised that access to the first-floor shops and desks will be restricted from 7 AM to 9 PM on both Saturday, November 14, and Sunday, November 15, to accommodate the Haven Hack Club Youth Game Jam.
The event will host approximately 30–40 youth participants, ages 13–17, in the Lounge next to Cosplay.
CLOSED SHOPS
The following shops will be closed for the duration of the event:
- Bike Shop
- Chop Shop
- Cosplay (The Furred Sunday event has been relocated to the upstairs classroom and Locksport Meetup to the Computer Lab.)
- Lasers
- Metal Shop
- Rapid Prototyping
- Spray Room
HIGHLY LIMITED SHOP ACCESS
Wood Shop and Ceramics will have very limited access during the closure. Access is permitted only when the shop captain, co-captain, or a member designated by them is present and willing to monitor the shop.
Wood Shop
- Access will be available during the scheduled Woodworkers Guild meeting.
- No equipment use will be permitted during the meeting.
Ceramics
- The scheduled ceramics class will take place, and attendees will be guided around the event.
- Kilns will not be operated during the closure.
- Because of the shop’s proximity to the youth event, physical access will be restricted. Please speak with a Lowell Makes event volunteer to arrange access.
FIRST-FLOOR DESKS
First-floor desks will be inaccessible during the event. If you need to retrieve something from your desk, please coordinate with an event volunteer. They will assist you in accessing your desk and leaving the area.
SECOND-FLOOR ACCESS
Second-floor shops will remain open.
Members entering the building during the event will be directed to use the stairs to access the second floor. We recommend exiting through the back door in FAMM (formerly the Atrium).
YOUTH EVENT SECURITY
Haven Hack Club participants will be identified by wristbands. Lowell Makes volunteers who have been cleared to work with the youth group will also be identifiable.
Please do not engage directly with event participants. Only designated, cleared Lowell Makes volunteers should interact with the youth attendees.
