Community, Sunshine, and Seriously Good Eats: Highlights from the Lowell Makes Annual BBQ Potluck

Lowell Makes BBQ Potluck 2025

On Saturday, July 19th, our community came together once again for one of our favorite traditions—the Lowell Makes Annual BBQ Potluck—and this year’s event did not disappoint!

We had a fantastic turnout of members, friends, and guests who all brought their appetites and culinary creativity. The potluck table was a feast for the senses, overflowing with amazing homemade sides. A few standouts that had everyone going back for seconds (and thirds) included a zesty black bean salad, a flavorful Moroccan chickpea salad, ultra-comforting mac & cheese, and a variety of pasta salads that each brought their own flair.

Summer BBQ

Of course, no potluck is complete without dessert—and wow, did the dessert table deliver! From buttery pies to fresh-baked cookies to a heavenly strawberry cake, there was no shortage of sweet treats to finish the meal on a high note.

At the grill, Gary Cutbill and Rudy Dominguez worked their magic, keeping the burgers, hot dogs, chicken, and sausages coming hot and fresh. Their grilling kept everyone well-fed and happy throughout the day. A huge thank-you to both of them for their time and effort behind the flames!

A special shoutout to Dylan Lavender for organizing this year’s event—everything ran smoothly thanks to your coordination. And thanks to Mike Rushton and the crew who helped with setup, especially the much-needed shade coverings that saved us all from the summer sun.

The best part? Seeing so many people come together to relax, laugh, share food, and just enjoy each other’s company. It’s gatherings like these that remind us what makes Lowell Makes so special: our creative, generous, and close-knit community.

Already looking forward to next year’s BBQ!!
