Skill Development Workshop II: Smooth to Pre-Finish
This session covers techniques to take the true and square boards from the “Rough to Smooth” workshop (Skill Development I) to a pre-finish stage. Participants will learn how to use both power machines and hand tools including hand planes, card scrapers, and the sand paper processes. The workshop will cover the various types of power sanders in the shop (oscillating spindle, oscillating belt, horizontal belt, random orbital) and discuss techniques for surface preparation and repairs prior to finishing. In addition, the participant will learn basic router table techniques and best uses for the drill press.
This workshop is exclusive to Lowell Makes members. See the LM member Basecamp for details.
