Arduino 103: Formalizing Circuit Designs
February 22 @ 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm$50
About this Event
Learn how to plan out your circuit designs, design circuits on the computer, and learn basic electronics knowledge.
Arduino experience, such as from Arduino 102, or experience with other electronics platforms, is strongly suggested. This course is designed to prepare students for Arduino 104, where circuit designs will be manufactured as printed circuit boards.
The class will transition away from the Arduino board, explaining the minimum components needed to use the ATMega chip that powers Arduino boards, and covering what each component does from an electrical engineering perspective.
Basic electrical engineering concepts will be explained, so students have a better understanding of how components work.
The class will then move to designing circuits digitally, before assembling components.
Schematic layout and design rules will be taught, to aid students in documenting their circuit designs for others to read and understand.
Bringing a laptop with the Arduino platform and Fritzing installed is suggested (https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software), although several laptops are available for use if needed.
To download Fritzing, create an account (https://fritzing.org/account/signup/), login, and then you can download Fritzing for free: https://fritzing.org/download/
